This place has been great for me and my family. I wanna give a big thanks to Richard and his mechanics for figuring out my weird issue I was having. Thanks for being calm with me while I had a bad temper.
I just purchased a car from Burkins and was really very impressed. I was coming in from out of state so I coordinated with the Internet Manager John Abel. John and Terry made sure to have all the paperwork and items in order for a smooth sale. I was in and out of there in about an hour. I have purchased new cars 4 times at other dealerships and this time was the ONLY time I wasn't fast-talked, and nobody tried to upsell me or add any funny fees to my invoice. All the people at Burkins were so friendly and the guy who handled the finance end was great to work with as well. Not only that, but I expected to pay a certain price and they applied rebates I didnt even know about, so I paid WAY LESS than what I anticipated. When I upgrade this car I am heading back to Burkins, as they have earned a customer for life.
Needless to say, I’m not at all satisfied with the level of customer service I’ve been receiving from this service team. Since this issue started, the communication between service provider and customer has been less than sub-par. I will say that Jason has been more helpful in his responses, as Richard seems too busy to provide any information that isn’t requested, let alone keep his word and return a phone call. Hopefully, this time, the problem with my car will be fixed when I return tomorrow, as I live in Jacksonville, and these return trips are not exactly convenient. Seeing all the positive reviews of this service team makes me wonder if the way I’ve been handled is because the issue is covered under warranty, therefore the service team isn’t profiting from me. I would hope they treat all customers with the same level of care and concern, regardless of what their needs are.
This is the only dealer I will purchase a car from. They are trust worthy, honest, and fun to be around. When you are there they make you feel at home. Great prices!
I brought my Chevy Cruze to Burkins on September 15th, after discovering water in the trunk near the spare tire, and mildew on the trunk floor panel. I purchased the car from this dealership back in April, and noticed water at that time. I mentioned it to the salesman, and he had the service team look at it. They dried the water out. When I returned in September, I arrived at 8:00 AM (my scheduled appointment time), turned my keys in to Richard, the service director, and was told they'd take care of it. I sat in the lobby for about 3.5 hours, without receiving any kind of update. I went back to the service desk around 11:30 to find out what was going on, as no one had even said anything about what the issue was. Jason, the service adviser informed me the technician had to spray sealant, and it would need to sit for a few hours. He couldn’t tell me how much longer I’d be waiting as the technician was out to lunch. Around 1 o’clock, I went back to the service desk to ask for another update. Jason said it shouldn’t be too much longer. Around 2:30, my car was finished. Richard checked me out, and said the leak was caused by a known manufacture issue with the trim near the passenger tail light. The next day (9/16), I realized the mildew hadn’t been cleaned from the trunk panel. I called back, and spoke to Richard, and was told they needed to order the replacement part. He said he’d call me when it arrived. After not receiving a call-back, I called around October 13th, to check in. Richard informed me the part hadn’t arrived yet. I told him I saw water again in the same spot, and agreed to bring the car back in for inspection when the panel arrived. I heard nothing until I called back on October 26th, to follow-up again. At that time, I was told the part had arrived and they were waiting for me to bring the car in. I dropped my car off on the evening of 10/31. The next morning, Jason called me to let me know the car was ready. When I arrived that afternoon, Jason told me the panel had been replaced, but they weren’t able to find a leak when they tested it. The wheel well was dried out, and I left. It’s now November 30th, and I’ve had to return the car again, after finding water near the spare tire again, AND the trunk panel damp again in a different spot than it was previously. I dropped the car off yesterday evening (after the service desk was closed), and was told by a salesman that I’d be contacted in the morning. Once again, I had to call for an update. I spoke to Richard today around 2:15, and was told he’d check with Jason. I called back around 5, only to be told they had to order a different sealant, that will arrive tomorrow morning. I guess it’s a good thing I called, because I’m not sure I would’ve received any updates until the car is ready.
